Centennial Project Receives Recognition from Commercial Construction & Renovation magazine

The McGovern Medical School Student Lounge, UTHealth, TX

This project for a new student lounge in the McGovern Medical School Building was the number one item on the wish list provided by medical students to UTHealth, who turned to Centennial through our on-call contract to execute the work. The project involved creating a new student lounge in an existing study area and transforming the original student lounge into a new study area. The goal was to establish more lounge space with better lighting and a kitchenette as opposed to the original lounge which was in the basement. Centennial’s team completed the work while the building remained in full operation by clearly cordoning off the work areas and closely coordinating with facility users and UTHeath representatives.

The project received a 2020 Project Profile Award and was featured in the March/April 2020 issue of the Commercial Construction & Renovation magazine.

Centennial Receives Build Washington Award for Construction Excellence

Centennial was tasked with a 17,130 square foot interior renovation of the historic King Street Station in Seattle, Washington. The station operates in a 110-year-old original building within the congested Pioneer Square area of downtown. Our performance encompassed, including the 7,500-square-foot cultural space, ARTS at King Street Station, available to the public. The remainder of the space, built in conjunction with the gallery space, was to provide support space for tenant artists and offices for the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture staff. This project is relevant because it demonstrates our ability to work within occupied spaces, specifically fully operational Amtrak stations with minimal disruption. Additionally, it highlights our knowledge of ADA requirements, our ability to work within strict timeframes, and our value engineering abilities.
