Centennial understands the responsibility of keeping our children safe during our work and using our creativity to help our K-12 clients provide the best facilities for learning. This is why schools are some of our favorite places to work.
Today’s school facilities require more technology, innovation in design and construction planning, and flexibility to meet the demands of educators, administrators, and students. Our work has ranged from renovating restrooms to creating complex specialty laboratories for students to explore and build STEM skills.
We bring the same dedication and performance excellence to every school project, no matter the size or complexity. Our skilled teams work to achieve excellent results at the many K-12 schools in which we work across the United States, including those for Newport News Public Schools, Hampton Public Schools, Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools, York County Public Schools, Stafford County Public Schools, Fairfax County Public Schools, Caroline County Public Schools, Orange County Public Schools, Loudoun County Public Schools, Prince George’s Public Schools, Baltimore City Public Schools, Montgomery County Public Schools, Harford County Public Schools, Fulton County Public Schools, Clayton County Public Schools, DeKalb County School District, Harris County School District, and many others. In total, Centennial has worked with more than 120 school systems nationwide.

When the leadership at Hampton City Public Schools recognized the need for a major upgrade to the prior culinary arts facilities, they turned to Centennial for assistance because of performance on past projects and the speed in which they needed to get this accomplished for their students and faculty. The culinary arts program is part of the Academies of Hampton which provides career-focused learning pathways for K-12 students in small learning communities to prepare every young person for a career, lifelong learning, and life. As a long-term partner to Hampton City Public Schools, Centennial was asked in April 2022, while still amid the COVID-19 pandemic and supply chain issue challenges, to take on this important demolition and build out as a fast-track design build project.
With the project completed on time and within the customer’s budget, the students at Hampton City Public Schools can once again enjoy a state-of-the-art facility complete with commercial grade kitchen equipment and unique design elements to elevate their enjoyment of the space and stimulate their creative culinary ideas. All parties involved in this project celebrated the success and Centennial looks forward to future opportunities to assist Hampton City Public Schools in creating centers of learning.
